FAREWELL TO MR. AND MRS. SEXTON

Morgan. February 8.

On Monday evening the members of St. Ursula's church met at the Morgan Institute to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. T. Sexton, who are leaving to reside at Glenelg after a residence of fifty years in Morgan. The chair was occupied by the secretary of the church, Mr. T. M. Whelan. He spoke very feelingly of the departing guests who would not only be a loss to the church but also to the town generally. He wished them the best of luck in their new home. Other speakers were Messrs. S. A Chalklen, R. Johnson, P. J. Cadan [?] A. J. Read.

Mr. F. X. Beck. head teacher of the Morgan school, presented to them on behalf of their Catholic friends an Onkaparinga travelling rug. Whilst having a clearing up at the school that day they had come across an old roll book which showed that two of Mr. Sexton's children where the first to be registered at the school 42 years ago. Mr. W. Sexton responded on behalf of his parents. The singing of "For they are jolly good fellows" and "Auld Lang Syne" brought the evening to a close.

Owing to such short notice that Mr. and Mrs. T. Sexton were leaving Morgan, there was not time to give them a public send off but Mr. F. Williams, chairman of the Morgan District Council, waited on them at their home on Tuesday morning and presented them with a roll of notes on behalf of their many friends in Morgan and district and wished them all good luck in their future home.
